Member of the Australian Institute of Cyber Security
For practitioners in early to mid-career who have completed the AICS Foundations course and hold active membership. The MAICS designation evidences foundational cyber security competence and active participation in the institute.

- Completion of the AICS Foundations accredited course
- Active AICS membership in good standing
- Acknowledgement of the AICS code of conduct
Graduate of the Australian Institute of Cyber Security
For experienced practitioners who have built on the Foundations base, completed the AICS graduate-level requirements and continue to evidence active practice. GAICS sits between MAICS and FAICS for mid-career practitioners.

- MAICS prerequisite or equivalent recognition of prior learning
- Completion of the AICS graduate-level requirements
- Continuing AICS membership in good standing
Fellow of the Australian Institute of Cyber Security
The institute’s senior chartered designation. FAICS is awarded to recognised senior practitioners whose contribution to Australian cyber security practice is verifiable through years of demonstrated practice, peer endorsement and active leadership.

- Substantial recognised cyber security practice
- Peer endorsement through the AICS advisory board pathway
- Continuing AICS membership in good standing
How AICS verifies a designation
Every AICS designation is recorded on the institute’s member register and is independently verifiable. Employers, regulators, clients and other practitioners can confirm a designation is current at any time. AICS does not award a designation on payment of a fee alone; designations require completion of the relevant accredited course pathway and continuing membership in good standing.
