AICS Fellowship (FAICS)

Fellowship of the Australian Institute of Cyber Security is the highest distinction within the profession. The FAICS postnominal is awarded by invitation to members of exceptional standing who have demonstrated outstanding leadership, sustained contribution, and deep expertise in the field of cyber security.

What Fellowship Represents

FAICS is not a credential that can be applied for through the standard accreditation pathway. It is reserved for experienced and distinguished professionals who have reached the pinnacle of their career and are recognised as guardians of the profession. Fellows are practitioners, educators, researchers, and leaders whose sustained contribution to the field has shaped the direction of cyber security practice in Australia.

Selection Process

Fellowship is awarded through an invitation-only process. Graduate Members (GAICS) who have made a significant and sustained contribution to the profession are identified and undergo a selection programme, after which they are granted the FAICS credential. The selection criteria reflect a commitment to professional excellence, ethical leadership, and service to the broader cyber security community.

The Role of Fellows

Fellows take an active role in guiding the Institute and shaping the direction of cyber security practice in Australia. They contribute to policy positions, mentor emerging practitioners, serve on advisory panels, and represent the profession in engagements with government, industry, and international partners. The AICS draws on the collective wisdom and experience of its Fellows to inform its strategic direction and advocacy priorities.
