Foundations Certified (AICSF)
AICSF is awarded to AICS members who have completed the Foundations of Cyber Security course. It is the entry-level credential for those beginning their professional cyber security journey with AICS, and is open to students, early-career professionals, and those taking on cyber security responsibilities for the first time. You can use the AICSF post-nominal once you hold an active AICS membership and have successfully completed the Foundations of Cyber Security course.
Member of AICS (MAICS)
To hold the MAICS post-nominal, you must be an active AICS member and have successfully completed the Cyber Security Accreditation Course. The Foundations of Cyber Security course is not a prerequisite but is recommended as preparation. The MAICS designation marks your commitment to the profession and is the first formal step toward full AICS accreditation.
Graduate of AICS (GAICS)
GAICS is awarded to members who hold MAICS and have a minimum of 4 years of verified industry experience in cyber security roles. This experience must be verified, not self-reported. The GAICS credential is widely recognised by employers and clients as a mark of genuine expertise. Maintaining GAICS status requires ongoing continuing professional development.
Fellow of AICS (FAICS)
The highest distinction within AICS, awarded by invitation to members of exceptional standing in the profession. Fellows take an active role in guiding the Institute and shaping the direction of cyber security practice in Australia.
Corporate Membership
Available at all membership levels. AICS caters for Corporate Memberships which open the door for multiple candidates, additional benefits, sponsorship and partnership opportunities, and more.
Member benefits
What makes AICS distinctively valuable for Australian cyber security professionals.
Use your postnominals while your membership is active
AICS awards grade-based cyber security postnominals (AICSF, MAICS, GAICS, FAICS) that you can use professionally as long as your membership remains current. These are Australian postnominals recognised specifically in the Australian context.
One flat annual fee, all grades covered
Membership is $499 per year for individuals, regardless of your grade. No hidden fees, no per-exam membership charges. One fee covers your full AICS membership no matter where you sit in the grade structure.
Built for Australia
AICS is focused entirely on Australian cyber security professionals. You get a national network, local standards, and guidance that is locally relevant to the Australian regulatory and threat environment.
A clear pathway to higher grades
AICS membership gives you access to a defined accreditation pathway with structured grade progression, from AICSF through to FAICS. You always know what the next step looks like and what it takes to get there.
Ethics and welfare support
AICS provides a dedicated ethics and welfare support service for members. This is not standard in most professional bodies, and reflects AICS’s commitment to the wellbeing of its members, not just their credentials.
