These terms explain how you may use the AICS website, apply for membership, enrol in courses, and access AICS materials.
Acceptance of these terms
By using this website, applying for AICS membership, enrolling in an AICS course, or accessing any AICS material, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, you should not use the website, purchase a course, or rely on any material made available through AICS.
AICS is Australia’s professional institute for cyber security. Its work includes accredited courses, chartered membership, and professional designations including MAICS, GAICS and FAICS. Membership, course enrolment and use of those designations are subject to eligibility, assessment, payment, conduct requirements and any policies published by AICS.
Membership, courses and payments
When you apply for membership or purchase a course, you must provide accurate information and keep your details up to date. AICS may decline, suspend or cancel access where information is incomplete, misleading, unpaid, or inconsistent with AICS requirements.
Course and membership fees are payable as shown at the time of purchase or application. Access to paid services may be withheld until payment is received. Course places, learning resources, assessments, membership benefits and professional recognition are provided in accordance with the relevant AICS policies and eligibility criteria.
Refunds are handled under the AICS refund policy. You should read that policy before purchasing a course or membership. AICS may consider refund requests in accordance with that policy and applicable Australian law, but these terms do not create any additional refund entitlement.
Code of conduct
Members, applicants, students and visitors must act professionally, lawfully and respectfully. AICS may take action if conduct harms other participants, the institute, the profession, or public trust in cyber security.
Use of designations
Professional designations such as MAICS, GAICS and FAICS may only be used by people who have been granted the relevant status and remain in good standing with AICS.
Materials, liability and legal terms
All AICS course content, website content, documents, frameworks, templates, graphics and other materials are protected by intellectual property rights. You may use them for your personal study, professional development or authorised membership purposes. You must not copy, sell, publish, share, adapt or redistribute AICS materials unless AICS has given written permission or the law allows it.
AICS aims to provide accurate and useful information, but website and course materials are general in nature. They are not legal, technical, financial or security advice for a specific situation. You are responsible for how you use the information and should seek appropriate professional advice where needed.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, AICS is not liable for indirect loss, loss of profit, loss of data, interruption of business, or consequences arising from use of the website, membership services, courses or materials. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot lawfully be excluded under Australian consumer law or other applicable laws.
These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. AICS may update these terms from time to time. The current version published on this website applies from the time it is made available.
