Identity protection and identity theft assistance.
When your identity has been compromised, exposed or stolen, AICS members help you contain the damage, regain control, and put the right protections in place for the long term.
What identity compromise looks like
It can arrive as a notification that your details were in a data breach, as a strange transaction on a bank statement, as a credit application you didn’t make, or as a phone account that has been ported away from you without your knowledge. The form is different – the underlying problem is the same: someone is using your identity against you.
How AICS members help
Contain
Lock down the accounts and identifiers that are actively being used against you. Stop the bleeding first.
Diagnose
Trace how your identity was compromised – data breach, phishing, malware, document theft, social engineering – so the right protections go on.
Report
IDCARE, Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, police, financial institutions, telco. AICS members help you prepare reports that the recipient can act on.
Harden
2FA, password hygiene, credit file alerts, account isolation, telco port-out protection. Put the right defences in place so the same thing cannot repeat.
