This course is designed for accounting professionals who need to understand cyber security in the context of their practice. It covers the regulatory obligations specific to the accounting profession, the risks associated with handling sensitive financial data, and the practical measures accountants can take to protect their clients and their practice from cyber threats.
The course provides accountants with the foundational knowledge needed to meet their professional obligations under the Privacy Act 1988, the Tax Practitioners Board Code of Professional Conduct, and APRA CPS 234 where applicable.
By completing this course, participants will be able to identify cyber security risks relevant to accounting practice, implement appropriate protective measures, and advise clients on their obligations in relation to data protection and cyber security.
